Raisins du Soleil
A table, where you can meet, has opened at Raisins du Soleil
Close to the church in Bize, the cellar "Raisins du Soleil" has been promoting wines of the Minervois for some years. Wine-makers are invited regularly to present their wines personally. At the moment, Marie Binisti wants us to taste quality regional products, which go well with Minervois blends and compliments them.
This passionate Bize lady maintains a very warm, simple and friendly welcome: "This is why I decided to open my house ", she explained, "on a Saturday evening out of season. I have called this weekly gathering "the meeting table".
During this special time, the guests are seated around a single large table. A menu is proposed, comprising fresh vegetables, meat, cheeses and fruit..., coming from regional producers and always selected according to the same criteria: bearing the "bio" or "Cathar" labels (animals raised in the countryside using traditional methods, fed on a 100% organic diet, summer beef and veal, lamb nourished by its mother, free-range poultry, etc.). The vegetables and seasonal fruit are certified as bio or, as a minimum, sustainably grown. Of course, it is all accompanied by good wines, chosen from amongst the many recommendations in the cellar.
This southern cuisine relies simply on the know-how of the craftsmen and farmers, who have chosen to exercise their profession with passion for the environment and their consumers.
The meals take place on Saturdays at 8pm. It is preferable to reserve, as the total capacity to welcome people indoors cannot exceed 15 to 18 people. If the weather is favourable, the table is laid on the outside terrace.
From the month of June until the end of September, it will be possible to come every night to get a table at Raisins du Soleil, in the courtyard, to discover or rediscover, with a glass of wine and plates of various foods, based always on the principle of fresh regional products. (The menu changes every week.) Eating and drinking well, in moderation, count today amongst our obvious preoccupations. Yet, it is also just as important to know how to meet and enjoy these moments of pleasure.
